Gedalya also known as The Folk Rock Rabbi is an amazing singer, songwriter, pianist, and musician. Based in New York, Gedalya is a born writer who started writing poetry at an early age. At the age of 17, he started writing songs with a piano. Began performing at open mics, Gedalya has built a strong fan base and after 20 years, he is still performing at different venues in NYC.
Gedalya’s songs explore various themes like faith, hardships, and growth with the universal genre of folk-rock. He has released several singles and eps over the years and is now back with yet another masterpiece called “The Thunder”.
Let’s talk about the song and its ingredients in detail. The song starts directly with the vocals with some powerful chords on the piano. The first verse is calm and sweet carried by the vocals and piano. A rising guitar kicks in the drums in a cinematic way with pads and electric guitar. The song has a very unique formation, the verse blends with the chorus, making it quite difficult to differentiate. A classical 80s rock-style guitar lead comes in after the second verse. The song’s intensity increases gradually till the last verse. A drop stops all other instruments and the intro like vocals and piano combo kicks in again. The drums fill in again to end the song perfectly with a lightning roar.
“The Thunder” is a song packed with powerful vocals and simple yet beautiful music production. Gedalya has done a marvelous job along with producer Craig Levy. It’s highly recommended to listen to the song.
