The Bergamot – Paradise | Soothing

The Bergamot is an exceptional duo/band based in Brooklyn, New York. Known for their beautiful storytelling and soul-touching harmonies, The Bergamot is creating wonderful indie folk/rock music for their fans. Jillian Speece (vocals and cajón) and Nathaniel Paul Hoff (vocals, keyboard, and guitar) met in high school and their career began long back in 2010 when they teamed up to work on a project. After graduating from college, they wrote and completed an album called “Smile”. They have also toured a lot and opened with many legendary artists like One Republic, Gavin Degraw, Young The Giant, and many others.

The Bergamot have released several EPs and four studio albums since 2010. They are back with yet another beautiful song called “Paradise”. It’s a very fun and lively song with a lot of emotions.

Talking about the song in detail. It starts with a soft lead on a synth and suddenly an amazing riff on an acoustic guitar kicks in with a subtle drum beat and claps. The acoustic guitar intro has a very country feel and is so catchy to listen to. Soon the vocals of Hoff kick in, his voice is so smooth and beautiful and it is enhanced by the amazing harmony work by Jillian. The song lifts after the first verse with drums and harmonica and the same catchy guitar riff. The chorus is very well written, it has a different feel than the rest of the song but everything blends well together.

“Paradise” is a song filled with excellent harmonies, amazing guitar work, and storytelling, it has a lot of little details and small musical bits that I am sure you will enjoy.
