JORDI FORNIÉS - RAÍZ Y RECUERDO (Album)

Jordi Forniés’ “Raíz Y Recuerdo” Is a Dreamy Neo-Classical Album with Surreal Keys, Romantic Calm, and Tender Builds

Jordi Forniés is a Spanish musician, composer, and visual artist based in Australia. His compositions move between gentle, repeating refrains and clearly shaped sections that steadily gain momentum. The music stays contemplative and expansive, often drawing from neoclassical and ambient electronic influences. He writes primarily for piano, strings, and small ensembles, combining traditional studio recording with electronic elements. Trained from childhood as a pianist, he studied at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Vila-seca in Spain, then returned to graduate study in 2017, earning an MFA in Music Composition and Orchestration from Chichester University in the UK. He’s also a member of the Composers Society of Singapore.

Jordi Forniés has released a new album, “Raíz Y Recuerdo.” It opens with “Volví a Encontrar,” a collaboration with Lucas González. The keys here are absolutely beautiful and surreal. So airy that you feel like you could literally float off into dreamland. The strings that follow along feel like a match made in heaven, adding warmth and depth without ever overpowering the calm.

“Como Árbol” is the kind of song that fits perfectly with a candlelight dinner date. The work is immaculate and incredibly easy on the ears, while the emotions are conveyed so beautifully that it feels personal, not performative.

Next, “En Silencio” keeps the momentum with another bop. The song features inviting riffs paired with the same stunning keys work Forniés is known for. The aura here definitely leans more romantic, and the chemistry between the two instruments is strong enough to feel unmatched.

“Hecho Música” carries a new-day, new-start kind of optimistic energy. The riffs sound blissful and positive, and the keys come in full of momentum, like the song is already smiling before you even notice it.

Finally, “Más Cerca Que Nunca” closes the album in the most beautiful way. The cinematic build, the way the track oozes emotion through that blend of intersection (overlap, ease, and confusion) is portrayed so gracefully. It feels like the perfect ending: tender, immersive, and hard to forget.
