Roxercat is an amazing rock band consisting of three members. The trio is based out of Nashville, Tennessee, and is no stranger to the music scene in the city. The band is led by the singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Price Jones followed by the jazz guitar legend, Stan Lassiter, and the bassist, Bill Francis.
Roxercat has gained a lot of popularity via Spotify and has consistently greeted its fans with new music. They have just released an ep called “Pearl” that has an amazing song called “Crime”. Let’s talk about the song and its ingredients in detail.
The song starts with a funky and heavy riff on the bass guitar with hi-hats that instantly makes the vibe. Soon an organ kicks in the drums and a cranky guitar lead lifts up the song. The vocals of Price come in with a lot of power and energy. The melody is really well structured and melodic which suits the funky side of the song. The song has several “Drops” where it rises and suddenly falls to a stop and rises again making the song interesting. The guitar work of Stan is impeccable with all of the jazz references put into rock style, really feels fresh and flawless. The bass secretly carries the song to the end with its subtle but noticeable riffs and bass lines. The song has several hooks that will keep the listener engaged and wanting more.
“Crime” is a fabulous song that has everything done right. From its songwriting to its production, everything is top-notch. Roxercat has done a phenomenal job on the song.
