Grant Nesmith is an avid singer, songwriter, and musician from Myrtle Beach. Grant started learning guitar at the age of 12 and was heavily influenced by The Beatles. Soon he started writing songs and began playing in bands from Nashville to New York. Grant is really into Psych/Surf music from the 60s. After separating from his band “Ocean Forest” in 2018, Grant released his first solo album Between Tides.
Days is the latest single by Grant Nesmith. The song features some typical instruments which are very cleverly used in the song. Upon hearing the song for the first time, it instantly gives a vintage vibe. Days starts with a mellow electric guitar riff which is followed by the drums and bass guitar after 2 bars. The song is fast-paced and very catchy. “Days” shines because of its vintage vibe and appealing melody. Grant has pursued the vocals in a classic style, with double layers and harmonies that sounds amazing and influenced by 60s and 70s surf music. Among everything, there are different effects on the guitar used throughout the song such as chorus and phasers that are very appropriate to the vibe. The bass guitar and drums are the nitty-gritty of the song. Both of these are the key elements that carry the song.
“Days” is a song that reminiscences about the summer holidays and a road trip. Grant Nesmith is a genius with two albums and with the latest single, he is still keeping the good old Surf music alive.
