The rise of electronic music through the last three decades has seen it journey from house hits from the likes of Tiesto in the 1990s, to the trance era from the house of Armin van Buuren in the mid to late 00s– and it encompasses a wide variety of sounds– following on this great train, is NENOVIBES on “You are all my life”– keep reading for my thoughts!
Jump cut to the intro, and the pianos immediately take you to an era of house music that found itself influenced by acoustic instruments (think Robert Miles, on “Children”), and as the vocals kick in, this is what I refer to as the 2020s twist: sultry, well-processed, and a centrepiece of the musical experience here.

The energy builds slow and steady from the intro to the first buildup, and the satisfaction, albeit delayed, is there, and it is there in waves; with the drop coming in very smoothly, and getting you grooving and moving– only to hand off with similar smoothness into the bridge slash second verse, which has a variety of elements in it that work to make the second drop varied and non-monotonic in light of the first drop. More expansive reverbs on the vocals, as well as a delay on the drop beat; these all contribute to making “You are all my life” a thoroughly engaging listen.

The mix and master manages to hold the wild dynamism characteristic of EDM rather well, with nothing meant to sound jarring or out-of-place; remember, this is electronic music with demands wilder than any other genre would put on it, save for perhaps black metal (but that whole crowd prides itself on its underground-sounding mixes, which I completely agree with, by the way); and it is managed beautifully here.
To call it wraps, “You are all my life” by NENOVIBES presents a thoroughly engaging listen for its listeners to partake in and let their minds weave the journey that they may please, with this song as the soundtrack to it. Check out the song here!
