Aussie prog metal giants Karnivool has just dropped amazing news for Indian metal fans on social media.
The 5 piece outfit born in Perth, Australia, has just announced the third leg of their long-awaited Continental Drift Tour.
Ian Kenny, Drew Goddard, Mark Hosking, Jon Stockman, and Steve Judd has been recording their fourth album. In 2020 they announced the 10th anniversary tour for Sound Awake, their 3rd LP, which later led to cancellation of all dates due to the pandemic. In 2022 they headlined the Monolith Festival in Australia along with other acts like Cog, Plini and Sleepmakeswaves.
In May, after playing the introductory leg of the Continental Drift tour in their home continent, the band will set out for an India tour, post which they would continue to Europe. In June, the band is booked for a string of colossal festival gigs, including headline slots at Download in the UK, Copenhell in Denmark, and Hellfest in France.
Karnivool previously played at three festivals in India in their Asymmetry era in 2015, before setting out for biggest ever headlining tour alongside Monuments. In 2019 they returned to play a stand-alone gig at Shillong, Meghalaya.
The Tri-Continental Drift Tour may introduce fans to some of the band’s newer material that they have been cooking up in the studio. Early bird tickets for India are now on sale from Skillbox.
