Roy Ben Bashat Quartet’s “Storyteller of a War (Live studio session)”

Roy Ben Bashat is an ardent composer, guitarist, and arranger from Israel. Being a master guitar player and composer, Roy’s music is very unique. It is a blend of classic jazz music with hints of Roy’s modern arranging techniques. Roy Ben Bashat is a storyteller who tells different stories through twelve notes and various rhythms.

Roy Ben Bashat has released a lot of music on SoundCloud and live versions on YouTube. His song “Storyteller of a War (Live studio session)” by Roy Ben Bashat Quartet is a masterpiece. Recorded at the Chillhouse studios, let us talk about the track and its ingredients in detail.

The song starts on a guitar with a beautiful jazz tone and the piano comes in with little arpeggios. The drums kick and bass kick in softly with a swing pattern. The melody is beautiful and keeps rising to unusual chords and notes. The piano sections seem modern and have a different approach than usual jazz pieces. The drums are mind-blowing and have so much impact with their unique marching-style drum rolls. The whole arrangement is fabulous and many things are going on that are extremely hard to describe. The ending is simply one best endings to a jazz piece. It is so unique and eccentric.

“Storyteller of a War (Live studio session)” is so perfect that you won’t believe that it is a live performance. Roy Ben Bashat’s quartets are phenomenal musicians and performers. It is highly recommended to listen to the song
