New Zealand Brewery Introduces Free Beer Machine for the Guitarist who Slays!

Wellington-based brewery Panhead Custom Ales has unveiled a groundbreaking machine named ‘Slay to Pay,‘ designed to dispense complimentary beer to guitarists based on their playing prowess. Employing AI fingerprinting technology, the device evaluates guitarists’ real-time skills, rewarding those deemed proficient with a cold brew.

Described as a “souped-up Guitar Hero for adults” by Panhead Custom Ale’s Head of Brand and Creative, Rebecca Sinclair, the innovation made its debut at the Panhead Rolling Stone Music Awards. Sinclair highlighted the machine’s ruthlessness, noting that it rejected some of the country’s finest guitarists.

“As far as we know, this is a first-of-its-kind machine with some pretty cool new tech and the best kind of reward for those willing to give it a go,” she stated. “The machine was the perfect combination of a couple of our favourite things, cold beer and really loud music.”

The ‘Slay to Pay’ machine represents an exciting fusion of technology, music, and beer, marking a distinctive and entertaining addition to the world of musical experiences.
