Later this month, Grimes will deliver the closing keynote address at the International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza on the topic of artificial intelligence.
The Canadian artist Claire Boucher will give the last session of the three-day conference, providing her take on music technology, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse. Pete Tong and Jaguar will co-host the 14th edition of the summit, which will start on April 26 and finish on April 28.
“Grimes is one of the most important, impactful and creative artists of our times,” according to IMS Ibiza co-founder Ben Turner. “A true visionary – sonically, lyrically, philosophically….and then there’s that angelic voice. It is a true honour to host her at IMS for our finale keynote interview in what is a rare visit to Ibiza. She will also be performing – more news to come.”
Nile Rodgers, George Clinton, and the Pet Shop Boys are some other names that have given the event’s closing speech in the past.

Grimes has earned a reputation for embracing technology and integrating it into every facet of her musical career. She asserts loudly that AI is the natural progression of mankind and supports the use of Web3 and AI in music and NFT art production. She stated that “AI is the fastest path to communism” back in 2021.
The 35-year-old lo-fi R&B pioneer continued, “AI could automate all the farming, weed out systematic corruption, thereby bringing us as close as possible to genuine equality. So basically, everything everybody loves about communism but without the collective farm ’cause, let’s be real, enforced farming is really not a vibe.”
