Foo Fighters Secure Sixth Number One Album with ‘But Here We Are’ in UK

Foo Fighters have triumphed once again, claiming their sixth number one album with their latest release, ‘But Here We Are.’ The rock band’s album surpassed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in a nail-biting chart battle, securing the top spot on the Official Album Charts.

Both bands unveiled their full-length albums on June 2, leading to one of the closest chart races in recent memory. Ultimately, Dave Grohl and his fellow Foo Fighters emerged victorious, accumulating an impressive 44,500 chart units to secure the coveted number one position. Meanwhile, Gallagher and his Council Skies (Sour Mash) settled for second place.

According to Billboard, “Council Skies, which enjoyed a late push from a digital exclusives campaign powered by Serenade, and finishes the chart week as the best-seller on wax, is Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds fifth top 5 title on the Official Chart.”

But Here We Are‘ marks the Foo Fighters’ first album since the tragic passing of Taylor Hawkins in March of last year. The highly anticipated record has received widespread acclaim, garnering a five-star review from NME: “a beautiful, noisy celebration of brotherhood and a stark, painful exploration of loss.” Through its heartfelt and powerful tracks, ‘But Here We Are‘ serves as a poignant reminder of the healing and unifying power of music.

The news of their number one album comes as the Foo Fighters kick off their 2023 comeback tour. Additionally, rumors have been swirling that the band will make a surprise appearance as The Churnups at Glastonbury 2023.

Fans who pre-order any format of ‘But Here We Are’ from the official store by Thursday will receive a pre-sale code for access to the forthcoming live dates.
