Thirty Seconds To Mars Returns After Five-Year Hiatus With New Music off Their Upcoming Album – It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day

I knew I’d stay with you after just one touch/The way you move has got me/Stuck,” sings Jared Leto on the chorus for the new song he dropped last night.

Jared Leto, along with his brother Shannon, has released new music with their band Thirty Seconds To Mars after a five-year hiatus since their 2018 album AMERICA. The new single, titled “Stuck,” was released on May 8th, and a snippet of the accompanying music video was teased along with 14 seconds of music.

Today, the band has launched their new music video which has been directed by Leto along with Bartholomew Cubbins.

A celebration of art, design, and fashion

During the pandemic, Jared revealed that the band had accumulated a significant amount of new material, saying, “We have so many songs now. We really took advantage of that time in lockdown and focused on writing.” He also expressed the band’s desire to release their new music at the right time and the right opportunity.

According to Jared, the music video is a tribute to his favorite photographers, such as Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, and Herb Ritts. He regards them as influential in changing the way he perceived things and showed him new possibilities. Therefore, the video can be considered as a token of appreciation to these artists who have had an impact on Jared’s artistic vision.

Speaking to NME, Leto explained, “The video for STUCK is very much a companion piece and a continuation of a journey started with “Up In The Air,” a celebration of art, design, fashion, and the remarkable people who bring them to life. It is a love letter to the power of movement and connection, a testament to the awe-inspiring potential of people who don’t necessarily fit so neatly in – but make the world so much more fascinating.”

Along with the single release, the Leto brothers revealed the track list for their sixth full-length studio effort – It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day, that is set for a September 2023 release. The album will be released via Concord Records and will include songs such as “Midnight Prayer,” “7 to 1,” “World on Fire,” and “Get Up Kid.”
