Eric Clapton to Headline Pair of Star-Studded Jeff Beck Tribute Concerts in London

The Royal Albert Hall is all set to host two performances in honour of the late, great rock guitarist Jeff Beck, with Eric Clapton, Johnny Depp, and Sir Rod Stewart among other anticipated performers.

The tribute gigs were organized by Triple A Entertainment Group Ltd two months after Jeff Beck’s tragic death from bacterial meningitis at the age of 78. His wife Sandra Beck and his close friend Eric Clapton worked together to make the arrangements. The two special performances are scheduled for May 22 and 23 at the legendary London venue and will “honour the legacy and talent” of Beck, who passed away abruptly on January 10.

Johnny Depp of the Hollywood Vampires, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Rod Stewart, a former member of the Jeff Beck Group, and American guitar prodigy Gary Clark Jr. are among the musicians who have already expressed a desire to take part in the homage to Jeff Beck. The final list of performers is to be declared closer to the dates of the event.

After briefly serving as the lead guitarist with The Yardbirds in 1965 and 1966, he fronted the Jeff Beck Group while also being critically acclaimed for his work as a solo artist.

Jeff Beck secured six Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance apart from also winning Best Pop Instrumental Performance once. In addition, he was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a member of the Yardbirds (1992) and once as a solo artist (2009).
