SLAPPER Stays in the Pulse of the Night on “We Kept the Night”

SLAPPER is the electronic music project of Bucharest-based producer Claudiu-Gabriel Tache. He blends synthpop, synthwave, melodic techno, and trance into a nostalgic, club-rooted sound. Active since the late ’90s, he built his presence through DJ sets, including opening for Alphaville and De/Vision. Now his latest single We Kept the Night, released April 10, 2026, continues his sound.

We Kept the Night, with its synth beats, keeps you on your toes before the rhythm fully sets in, and it sounds like walking down the steps of your house, seeing your friends out front waiting for you. Immediately, it places you in that exact moment, right before the night begins, full of anticipation.

The entire song being instrumental really lets you imagine what this night would look like, and you start painting those images behind your eyes. Meanwhile, the sounds keep shifting just enough to hold your attention without breaking that flow. Midway through, the tempo picks up and moves in waves, as if you’re rapidly moving through a crowd, brushing past people, lights flashing, everything slightly blurred but still vivid. That motion just keeps carrying you forward.

As the climax approaches, We Kept the Night breaks and puts itself back together again, moving in a steady rhythm and beat. Then it intensifies in the last couple of seconds, pushing everything higher before it ends on a high, leaving that energy hanging just a little longer.
