Chris Caulfield – Stockholm Syndrome | immersive

Chris Caulfield is a musician from Toronto, Canada. Combining a unique blend of hip-hop, alternative rock and lo-fi genres with introspective lyrics and haunting melodies, Chris Caulfield has a story to tell. He found himself on a unique road early on, playing in bands in the Toronto region in his teens and early twenties, and spent the next decade managing his own enterprises and starting a family, bringing a plethora of events and experiences to tap into musically. Caulfield is no stranger to adversity; over the years, he has battled chronic pain, depression, and anxiety, as well as other challenges and experiences. He converts and explores these experiences in his music and gives you a truly unique, musical view of the world.

His newest single, Stockholm Syndrome, is a combination alternate pop-rock tune that delves into the duality of navigating substances from the standpoint of chronic pain. Chris makes an immediate impact in the vocal department, guaranteed to send shivers down anyone’s spine. The non-traditional introduction and an incredible stunner of a vocal opening inside the first 30 seconds or so really draw you in. This effortlessly transfers into a pop-centric track that takes you on a journey both thematically and instrumentally.

The single also dropped with interesting video artwork. It’s called a “monotype painting” and was done in collaboration with Brazilian visual artist, Natalia Francischini.  Needless to say Chris Caulfield’s Stockholm Syndrome is a must-listen if you need some music to immerse yourself into. The song is immersive and inspirational and ends on a positive note.
