Bringing you his fifth single of the year, Pittsburgh based rapper and artist Konscious Kel is offering you an escape, a groove and a vibe all in one. A three minute, mind cleanser Float is well-balanced and was definitely the highlight of my day. The track also features artist Kennzo Suede.
Float opens up with a groovy key sound that gets kick-started with a cool drum rhythm. Konscious Kel segues into the chill vibe with an unmatched flow. Kel has a great flow and cadence and is very calming to immerse yourself into. The song only gets better from here on. When the chorus hits, Konscious Kel’s vocals take the track to another level. So immersive and beautiful, this track is full of goodness and lives up to its name – it really does make you feel floaty and vibey.
The track definitely has strong R&B influences that have been channelled into a modern day lofi-rap vibe. With its abundant hi-hat heavy instrumentations, the music is lofi-esque, making it a track for chill, unwinding sunsets that lead to introspection.Konscious Kel’s style reminds me of Mac Miller and Tai Verdes.
Float by Konscious Kel should definitely find a spot on your playlist whether it is for chill times, focused reading, creating a groove or even sadboi hours.
