Moonroof – Bored and Numb

Bored and Numb by Moonroof is an emotional and personal song about emotional turmoil borne out of love and heartbreak.

Moonroof was founded by university students Dave Kim, Kev Randolph, and Dan Rendine. Once graduates and convinced music their full-time vocation, they added guitarist Danny Walsh to the band. The Philadelphia-based indie-pop band has shared the stage with artists like AJR, Angels & Airwaves, Local Natives, and more. The band has even opened for The Lumineers, Death Cab for Cutie, Grouplove, and Phantogram! In October of 2020, the band signed with Free Dive Records. And this October they are planning to release their first-ever EP!

The track Bored and Numb has acoustic guitar chords throughout, making its sound as genuine and innocent as the lyrics. The drums serve to give a quick-paced beat, but the gentle production keeps the song grounded. The lyrics delve into what happens when you fall in love very hard, and then when you part ways you cannot really shake it off.

The artist is trying to find distractions and other people to go out with, and when he meets them he feels like he is getting over his ex. However, he ends up feeling bored and numb rather quickly, realising this fleeting connection means nothing to him. Time and time again he ends up going back to his ex, and he feels guilt and regrets it too.
