Lurid Purple Flowers-Darkness | Bluesuperior

I have always wondered what it would be like to hear Joe Bonamassa in a band. He’s achieved great success as the blues virtuoso he is, but its a question that hasn’t left my mind. I got an answer when I listened to Lurid Purple Flowers. Specifically their single, Darkness.

To dissolve into a music career as an indie artist is hard. During a pandemic? It’s harder. With iron resolve and passion for rock and blues, Lurid Purple Flowers have risen up against all the odds. Their song Darkness is a rock-blues super jam with first-string solos, riffs and a voice that talks to your hidden voice. Darkness has the funk and fuel to make a 12 bar blues song sound like a farrago. Created with love by CA Newcomb & Ben Caito, they each shine with their own luster as they make their way through this track. I never thought 3:43 is a short time, but apparently it is when you’re trying to mimic the solos with your mouth.

Too Late itself was a great track they released, their debut last year. They’re staying alive, with this harnessed energy that must be from all the disappointment people have felt. Take that negative energy and flip it to this monster mama-jam. Classify it as whatever genre you want, you have to salute the axe and the voice that backs it.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
