North Atlantic Explorers – We’re a Wildfire | Cinematic fusion

Having released three full-length albums since 2005, along with a few singles, Vancouver-based group North Atlantic Explorers is known for their eclectic mix of sounds spanning multiple genres, creating captivating atmospheres through their intricately produced songs. Their latest release, ‘We’re a Wildfire’ is a cinematic composition with lush harmonies, groovy rhythms and interesting electronica-infused elements.

Nobody knows all the trouble that I’m in / All the trouble that I’m in / They tell you lies / You’ll be home late / Don’t wait around / Meet up with me” – The track begins with a uniquely-toned airy vocal supported by a soft bass guitar melody along with a four-on-the-floor, lofi-like beat. A mellow saxophone in the background fills up the spaces and adds some more colour to the track, introducing the second singers mellow and somewhat deep voice. They sing slightly sultry lyrics about meeting a certain someone and it’s delivery from a very laid back way with melancholic melodies.

North Land Explorers have incorporated a mix of modern and retro sounds on this track. Some parts might remind you of synthpop artists like The Midnight and M83 with a touch of psychedelia. The innovative production style and well-structured arrangement of the track make it a pleasure to listen to and easy on the ears as well! The band has had a lot of experience releasing all kinds of music and this is another amazing track that’s added to their ever-increasing discography.
