Us4 - Christmas in Dublin

Us4 – Christmas in Dublin | festive

Us4 is an Irish pop/rock band of four siblings from Birmingham, featuring Áine (lead vocals, tin whistle), Brendan (guitars), Cormac (drums, percussion, piano) and Declan (fiddle) Healy. Emanating from a rich musical background, Us4 is the triumphant culmination of a childhood of exposure to an eclectic blend of music. A strong Irish heritage is evident in their unique and vibrant sound, as they seamlessly marry the driving rhythms of stadium rock acts with the beautiful melodic spirit of traditional Irish folk music.

With their newest single, Christmas in Dublin, Us4 is channelling some beautiful, quintessentially Irish vibes. The single features these delicate vocals, which are just as delicate as the sound of bells and sparkles present in the single. The song soon segues into an arrangement of harmonies that segue in slowly building drumbeats. This progressively building track culminates with all the instrumentals kicking in, especially the guitar and the fiddle, which add an oomph factor to the song.

Us4 reminds me of ABBA and Fleatwood Mac. They are redefining what indie pop means, and we are all here for it. Christmas in Dublin is setting itself apart from the broad catalogue of already existing Christmas music. This single gives you a unique, festive experience that is all due to their experimental pop/rock sound. Us4 are definitely a band to look out for.
