McDead is the brainchild of Kev Edinborough, a London-born producer, and archaeologist currently residing in Melbourne while traveling extensively. His musical roots trace back to the alternative and electronic scene of 1990s South East England, where he initially worked as a roadie and later as a guitarist. Despite his diverse background, including obtaining a PhD and working as an archaeologist, music remains a significant part of his life. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of influences spanning from Captain Beefheart and Extreme Noise Terror to Steve Reich, Jimi Hendrix, and Mr. Bill, McDead’s sound defies easy categorization.
McDead delivers another dancefloor dazzler with his new single “Rebar.” From the opening notes, the track pulls you into its psychedelic groove thanks to pulsating basslines and shimmering synthwork. Layered on top is a choppy, retro-inspired organ line that adds just the right vintage flair.
