Betty Moon – COSMICOMA | dynamic

Canada and LA based artist Betty Moon just released her third album, COSMICOMA, and it is a banger! Betty Moon’s music draws influence from underground sounds ranging from rock, soul, punk rock, electronic and electro-pop soaked with aggressive, empowering, yet somehow soothing, electrifying the listener with its big bold energy.

Comprising 8 songs with a 30-minute run-time, COSMICOMA is Betty Moon’s signature blend of alternative rock and punk. The first song on the album, Black Bloods, has a chill, alternative rock vibe that opens the album up really well. The next song, My Only One, picks up with a snare bass line and distorted guitar. It displays interesting harmonies with Moon’s high dynamic vocals that really charge up the song. Throughout the album, Moon’s vocals sort of move from the foreground to the background in a way that really flows. This technique blends seamlessly with the punk/alternative rock instrumentals.

The song Give You Up really drives home the Rock feeling with its instrumentals. The vocals are laid back and what gets you is the guitar lead. The next song on the album is I’m a Mean Girl and gives you big punk rock vibes. I’m a Mean Girl might just become my new girlboss anthem!

Where my Heart is starts off with a low-key unplugged vibe with just Moon’s vocals and the guitar playing. The song progresses and builds up well. This song is a rock ballad that just stays with you.

The next song, The Mexican puts a spin on the idea of a rock ballad. With Iron Maiden-like storytelling and instrumentals that remind me of Metallica, this song is definitely a vibe. Are you Ready for Me? is the trump card of the album. This song really flips the whole vibe of the album. It features a rap that follows throughout the song, combined with Betty Moon’s dynamic vocals. Are you Ready for Me? is a dynamic and interesting combination of genres that is a groove in itself.

The last song of the album is called Screamatorium. And no, the song isn’t what you expect it to be. This song succinctly wraps up the whole vibe of the album. It combines the alternative punk-rock elements that we see throughout the album into a well executed 3-minute track.

Betty Moon displays her dynamic and powerful voice throughout the album, and it’s a real diamond in the rough. A combination of dynamic, seductive, powerful, every time she sings on the album she manages to exude an electrifying but soothing energy.

Moon wrote, produced and mixed her newest album COSMICOMA, which continues to inject genuine sex appeal, soulful vocal prowess and massive production, all the while experimenting with new sounds and modern genre trends. Moon is also known for her company Evolver Music Inc. and her music has been featured in a variety of television shows and films including Californication, Dexter, Bounty Hunters, Teen Mom Young & Pregnant, Walking the Dead, Last Gasp and the upcoming film Butter.

COSMICOMA by Betty Moon is an interesting and unique blend of pop-rock-alternative music that is a brand in itself. Don’t miss out on this one.
