John Love – A song for You | Indie vibe

Chicago based artist, John Love, just released second single A Song for You. A Song For You is, like the song says, a testament of love and support. The song has the perfect indie vibe for a drive. John Love is the keys player from the North and Wells Band who is now branching out into solo work.

Sticking to his specialty, Love features some interesting keys riffs that kick off the song. The mix of the song is very equally balanced. It gives off the perfect blend of tinnyness and brightness in addition with the warmth and darker elements. The vocals cut very cleanly through the mix. The rhythm section – drums and the bass keep you dynamically engaged with the changes and the journey of the song. The bridge of the song displays some psychedelic guitar work, that is so cohesive with the rest of the track.

The vocals really complement the music in creating an atmosphere of the song. A Song for You by John Love reminds me of Glass Animals, The War on Drugs and Rainbow Kitten Surprise. John Love is definitely an artist you should look out for. His ability to create these succinct, immersive but unplugged atmospheres is something I really loved about the song. If you are looking for the quintessential indie-pop song, John Love is quite literally A Song for You.

Don’t miss out on this groove.
