Madonna + Feid scores late at FIFA World Cup with surprise track: Read My Lips

Madonna just added another headline to what already looks like a packed summer schedule.

The pop icon has teamed up with Colombian hitmaker Feid for “Read My Lips,” a bilingual collaboration that landed as a surprise addition to the Official FIFA World Cup 26 Album (Bonus Edition) on June 25. The expanded release now features 20 tracks and pulls together artists from across generations and genres.

Confessions II era officially kicks off

Produced by Madonna alongside longtime collaborator Stuart Price and hitmaker Tainy, the track had already sparked curiosity earlier this month after appearing in Confessions II – The Film, a 13-minute visual project that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Now fans finally get the full version.

The release also pushes the countdown toward Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II, arriving July 3.

The singer has been building this up with short films, music releases and major live appearances. But the biggest moment is still ahead. On July 19, Madonna is all set to perform at the first-ever halftime show during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium. She will be sharing the stage with BTS and Shakira.

Madonna also got candid about the long journey behind her stalled biopic project. In a recent interview, she explained that after years of script development, budgeting and planning with Universal, creative differences around the scale of the production eventually brought things to a halt. That period of frustration ended up feeding into new music instead.

Meanwhile, fans have also been connecting the dots between recent visuals, including the “Bring Your Love” music video featuring Julia Garner and Sabrina Carpenter, and the growing world around Confessions II.

For now, “Read My Lips” arrives as an unexpected extra time winner in Madonna’s already busy season.
