Murdocco – A Song for Alex | an ode

Mariana Murdocco is back with her third single, “A Song for Alex.” Murdocco’s songs allude to personal experiences, transmitting profound emotions and immersing you in her world, with her silky and sensual tones. She creates a melodious, quirky, and unique sound by using the piano and often powerful bass lines. Originally from Uruguay, Murdocco is a London based singer-songwriter, her original productions are a fusion of live instruments and Electronica, citing Bjork and The Knife as influences.

A song for Alex has a lo-fi sultry vibe that only grows more intense as the song progresses. There are beautiful guitar instrumentals that complement the vocals. A song for Alex, like her other music, creates an atmosphere that lets you lose yourself in it. There are hints of electronica and beats that find themselves into the track, really adds another dimension to the song.

Murdocco wrote this ballad with great love and distress while accompanying her friend Alex, who was fighting cancer, in the hospital. The Murdocco says, “I was very lucky to spend much time with him. I’ve sought to poetically describe those moments, witnessing his bravery, wit and positivity, which never faded.” The song is not only a tribute, but the perfect expression of love. One can feel the love radiating through the music.

This song is a heartfelt ode to a friend and is the purest atmosphere to immerse yourself into.
