Jacob Collier Drops his new Album Djesse Vol. 4

British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier released his fifth LP “Djesse Vol. 4” on March 1, 2024.

It is his first album in four years since the 2020 album “Djesse Vol. 3”. Also, the album is the fourth and final chapter in the Djesse series, which began in 2018 with “Djesse Vol. 1”.

The album comprises 16 tracks, produced by Jacob Collier, and even includes a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge over Troubled Water” featuring uncredited vocals from Yebba.

The album was recorded in his home studio in London and on the road while touring.

Also, on the album, Collier used collective samples of his famed “audience choir” of 150,000 fans’ voices recorded worldwide across his last two years of touring.

In addition, a special mention goes to the artwork for the album, which is a real-life glass sculpture. In a recent social media post, Collier elucidates,

“The artwork for Djesse Vol. 4 is in fact a real-life glass sculpture!! It was crafted by my brilliant maverick friend @dustinyellin – one of the most breathtaking artists currently roaming Earth. It’s built from 30 sheets of glass, glued together, and between each are placed over 3000 tiny cut-up paper people, creatures, instruments, shapes, life forms, friends, foes, relics of Djesse – in a mass smatterdom of flavour. Having been an avid drinker of Dustin’s worlds since the dawn of Djesse, this is LITERALLY a dream come true. I urge you to feast on the plentiful spoils of his universe that exist in the world and across the interwebs.”
