Gorillaz are finally heading to India! The iconic virtual band, created by Damon Albarnand Jamie Hewlett, has announced its long-awaited India debut with The Mountain Tour in January 2027.
For the very first time, Indian audiences will experience the animated quartet: 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs come alive on stage.
The tour will stop in two major cities: Bengaluru on January 23 at District Arena @ Terraform, followed by Mumbai on January 27 at Jio World Garden, BKC.
Hosted by District by Zomato, the shows promise a spectacular audiovisual performance by the English ‘virtual’ band. Tickets go live on April 18.
The tour celebrates the band’s ninth full-length The Mountain, released in February 2026. The album was critically acclaimed upon release for its global sound and strong Indian influence, featuring collaborations with legendary artists like Asha Bhosle, Ajay Prasanna, and Anoushka Shankar, among others.
Fresh off a successful UK and Ireland run, Gorillaz are bringing their full live band setup along with special guest performers including several of their Indian collaborators. Fans can expect an immersive experience packed with fan-favourite hits and new tracks.
Albarn shared his excitement, calling the India tour a “dream come true,” while Hewlett echoed the sentiment, saying the band has always wanted to perform in the country.

An entity of flesh and bones in pursuit of becoming a higher being. A connoisseur of the mystic arts and everything musical. His origins are unknown, and so are his true motives.
