Ambient EDM 'Relaxing Awareness in an Empty Forest' by Guido Hermans

“How would you write music?” Asked a writer. “Music cannot be written, but what you feel from the imagination that the music you hear gives you, can be described in words,” replied the Spirit of Love. So what I am writing about the new track ‘Relaxing Awareness in an Empty Forest’ by Guido Hermans is my imagination that arose from listening to the song and my feelings that took the shape of words.

The forest in Guido’s music is Empty, yet the music gives rise to an enchanted forest land filled with magical moments of nature waking up. Maybe he names it as an Empty Forest because it’s empty of humans. The music has only Nature and as the music flows, She is waking up.

As Guido’s track begins, it feels like the night of dreamy somnolence is stretching her body and slowly waking up. The birds with colourful feathers and big eyes start to sing their wake-up songs. The stillness of the water over the lake cracks in bubbles as the water beings rise up to meet the daylight. As the third wave musical layer enters, the drum beats feel like the entry of galloping wild horses. The moving horses break the mist of the dawn as the light of the first sunrays rush in to touch the land in its warm embrace. The day arrives and along with it the journey of the many mystical animals, birds, insects, fishes, plants, and trees begins.

With a love for life and eagerness to live the day to its fullest, nature fills herself with the chaos of being alive. And then the lull of cicadas came in as suddenly as the horses started to gallop. The ending of the day is near whilst the scurry of completion of all that is needed to fill the day, so the night may seep in again. The tandem of dusk fills the day and brings in the dark and the rhythm slows down to the prior dreamy state of nothingness. Where everything begins and everything ends.
