‘Someday Got Away’ starts with beautifully entwined soft guitar strums and violin tunes, reminiscing of the yesteryear promises. It’s always a wonder when an artist turns their pain into art. In ‘Someday Got Away’, Moira Chicilo crafts her emotions of the bitterness of not following through with the promises to fulfill her dreams into poetic lines.
The song lyrically begins with the harsh realities of life of, “Dinner plates with cracks and chips, furnitures with stains..”, symbolically tuned by melancholic violin. Writing about a life away from the caged Mind and into the free heart desires. “Talked about living in Spain…Wander streets drinking wine at noon, if only we had followed through. But someday got away, it got away from us”, has Moira’s deep evocative timbre bringing us back to the discomfiture of present continuous state. Yet theres hope that arrives soon, “But it’s gonna be different someday.. we’ll buy that house.. pulling colours from the sky…”
