Multi-instrument Artist Robert McGinty Unleashes a Powerful Album ‘Reflections’

Manchester, UK-based multi-talented instrumentalist Rober McGinty has released his next album, ‘Reflections’. The album is a captivating collection of twelve compositions with immaculate blending of classical and contemporary. Inspired by artists like Vivaldi, Haydn, Scott Joplin, Liberace, McGinty features a rich tapestry of piano-driven pieces, Spanish guitar, and orchestral arrangements enhanced by flute and strings. The complete album is fun and creative, here are a few from the dozen I loved the most.

Reflections: There are ways to come closer to the beloved. It’s a dance between the one who tempts and the one who gets tempted. This piece, ‘Reflections’, is the tempter, who is teasing the beloved (the listener) with movements. The feelings that impulsively emerge from the listener are the reflections of teasing by the player. The piano keys swing between the major and minor, creating an epiphany for both sides. The track gives a feel of imminent closure, that this magical dance is almost nearing its end, yet continues persistently.

The Brightness of the Morning: This one felt like a modern urban take on nature’s cyclical design. The flow of the sound appears, as if the artist is playing his craft sitting by the river in a very urban space. The morning is about to get busy with thoughts, emotions, and conversations of people from various backgrounds. The artist is sitting in one corner of a gray city with a gray river flowing by. And his music reflecting in reverse, a bustling morning just about to arrive. His fingers are doing the magic on the black and white piano keys, emitting rainbow colours of music reflecting everyone’s mood.

The Elysian Slumber: It’s the lullaby song of this album. I reminisced about the vintage jewelry box my grandfather had in his collection. The box opened to reveal a couple dancing, with mirrors on both sides and a soft slumber-like trinkling music playing in the background. The memory of going into a trance-like state on long, humid afternoons of summer vacations at my grandparents’ remains afresh. The dance of the harp, strings, and the keys in this track, brings back the memories of a few soft childhood days.

The Whisper on the Wind: I believe the flute carries messages from the wind. The symbolic cylindrical representation of flutes is the same as the tree trunks, making me feel that it is the Spirit World’s way to connect with Mother Earth. Like tree trunks rooted to the earth, whispers sweet nothing into Mother Earth’s womb. The flute in ‘The Whisper on the Wind’ whispers sweet nothing to the flesh and bones of this human life.

The Whimsical Waltz: A flirty medieval courtship number. The sound carries a warm, fuzzy feeling and a playful bend of tunes. Courtship in medieval times would be quite stressful, especially because of the societal pressures. The feeling that arises when you listen to this track is quite the opposite, it is joyous and comforting, with dollops of whooping fun!

Tales By the Campfire: A twisty track. Although ‘Encantada’ would be the main dance number on this list, I choose the ‘Tales By the Campfire’, for its twists and turns. It is a mini dancefloor rival to its prior, a quickie that will get the two-left-feet people on the floor.
