What is most amusing is the comfort Andrew’s words feel even though they stab you like thorns. “But the ones who hurt us don’t obsess/ Just as we don’t obsess over those we left distraught.” Schneider’s voice carries a theatrical weight, emotive and resonant like the words that hit hard. The song has an abstractness that one can get lost in, it might even be a number to play on loop. Like it has been for me.
