‘Pleasant Thoughts’ by Andrew Schneider is a Maverick Sonic Experience

Andrew Schneider’s songs latch on and don’t let go. His latest creation ‘Pleasant Thoughts’ is a platter of disarrayed intimate emotions. Feelings of a Soul trying to make sense in a world of betrayal, distortions and lies. Andrew Schneider is a maverick who does not resort to the conventional and ‘Pleasant Thoughts’ fits that expectation once again. From the very first note this classic alt-rock is intertwined with a melodic elegance. Schneider’s signature style of weaving layers of each instrument makes the sound effortlessly graceful.

Any creation is a reflection of the creator’s experience of life and the play with the creator’s energy with his soul. In between the dreamy, classic feel of ‘Pleasant Thought’ there lives a haunting reality. The storytelling that sets this track apart. What is most amusing is the comfort Andrew’s words feel even though they stab you like thorns. “But the ones who hurt us don’t obsess/ Just as we don’t obsess over those we left distraught.” Schneider’s voice carries a theatrical weight, emotive and resonant like the words that hit hard. The song has an abstractness that one can get lost in, it might even be a number to play on loop. Like it has been for me.
