Proklaim releases his most hard-core hip-hop track "Panthera"

Proklaim is a solo music project by British-born, Namibia based rapper Birungi Alexander Kiremire. The artist’s muted social media presence stands in juxtaposition with the consistency with which he has been dropping singles and EPs since 2018, leading to an extensive rap discography. His latest single “Panthera” is a hard-core hip-hop track that will instantly bring energy to any room!

From his recent releases, we can see that Proklaim has been diversifying his choice of samples and is really making an effort to choose samples that are truly unique. The sample on “Panthera” is a heavier one inclined towards Lean Hip-hop which stands in juxtaposition to the sharp and fast flow by Proklaim. The track is packed with bars and I personally enjoyed the sonic palette switch towards a minor sound during last 30 seconds of the track.

Apart from the bass-heavy sample, the 808 beat is a very prominent part of the track and adds to it much of its energy. The songwriting re-affirms the values of hard work, keeping your dreams your alive, your moves silent and having a blue print. I really enjoyed the line ““In a world that is cold, learn a way to turn the heat up” and felt like it was emblematic of the rapper’s clever penmanship. The artist uses the device of repetition to remind us that “The devil is working overtime” which could be interpreted as a reason to work harder than the devil or be the devil himself!
