The track keeps it surprisingly versatile given how short it is, with three separate sonic blocks all taking their turns multiple times. It starts off with really trippy strings and a synth that swings back and forth like a pendulum, conveying a menacing ambience. The percussion is catchy, groovy and clap-heavy yet relatively simple while the ad-libs sprinkled liberally in the background liven up the environment. The bass-heavy chorus has percussion that sounds like a count-down and the track ends with echoed out vocals.

The vocal performance of Lil Zib is layered and has a twang to it. Lyrically he successfully switches flow between all three sonic blocks. The writing feels like a venting session against someone who likes to play “games”, one can presume in the process of courting. It serves a reiteration of how Lil Zib likes to play no games and the song is a stand he takes for himself, marking the limits of his tolerance. It is the description of someone hot and cold and materialistic.

The cover art that has chess coins is an accurate visual representation for the title of the track. If you are looking to add a short and catchy track to your hip-hop playlist, you can check out “Games” by Lil Zib here!
