Singer-Songwriter Marina Vanoff releases a melancholic summer track ‘Chino’

The LA-based singer-songwriter Marina Vanoff is back with a ‘Sad Girl Summer’ single ‘Chino’ and it can make your tea salty. “You said you’re not like other guys, you said you’re not alive. I wish that was true and I wish I never trusted you!” The tone of the song heavily reflects the melancholy of trust-broken and heart-shattered.

“You kissed me on the bridge, I thought I could get used to this…I wish I never did!” Marina Vanoff and her pure expression of her feelings in these lines pierce right through the heart. In our lives, we meet people and start loving them for what we lack inside ourselves. Maybe that is why we say we ‘fall’ in love because we jump into the pit of our own void, trying to fill it by being with others. Instead of learning to fill what we lack, we learn to get used to it.

“So what was the point? You already got what you wanted. You told me to jump, I drowned and you watched it…was that not enough? Did you really wanna leave me haunted!” ‘Chino’ showcases an extremely strong lyrical bond; Vanoff’s words reverberate with the bareness of reality and human emotions. “I said it I won’t die, But I’m not so sure I’m right.”

‘Chino’ comes across as a well-produced and very melodic acoustic setup. The spotlight is definitely on Marina’s euphonic vocals. Her voice captures the layers of emotions in-depth and brings about an ethereal feel. To me, it gave a very ‘Miley Cyrus’ vibe. Her last release before ‘Chino’ was ‘Carousal,’ which has been receiving many accolades from the reviewers. Wishing Marina all the very best and looking forward to more of her work.
