French Artist Grégory Van Praet Releases a Transcendental Track ‘La Vallée De La Mort’

‘La Vallée De La Mort’, translated as ‘The Valley of Death’, is the first song release from the upcoming Album “Le vertige des maux” by singer-songwriter Grégory Van Praet. The French artist, known for his electronic music, blends atmospheric textures with introspective lyrics. Grégory Van Praet crafts ‘La Vallée De La Mort’ from deeply personal experiences, creating a work that resonates intimately with his listeners. The song mirrors the existential avalanche that many people in the world are encountering today.

The title of the song, ‘The Valley of Death’, in itself suggests a pretty somber undercurrent. The melody is hauntingly intense, and Van Preat’s layered vocal textures in the track evoke a tidal wave of emotion. The lyrics are in French and therefore, difficult for me to fully grasp. However, I came across these lines from the song on Van Praet’s Instagram post: “La pluie relâche les âmes. De ceux qui s’évaporent. De la vallée de la mort”, which closely translates to, “The rain soothes the soul of those who evaporate from the valley of death”. Potraying a visceral image of the void, transcendence, pain, and eventual release.

Grégory Van Praet is a multi-talented French artist, the lyricist, composer, vocalist, producer, and visual creator behind the song’s video. The video offers a window into Van Praet’s inner world, a shadowy realm where his mind wanders to reflect and contemplate, to extract the raw creativity that fuels his art. The song itself is a full vibe and is now streaming on all major music platforms.
