Ivy Mor – In Other Words

In Other Words is a lover’s ballad by Ivy Mor, an indie musician. Ivy currently splits her time between Tel Aviv and Amsterdam, although she’s been traveling across the world since she was six years old. This is reflected in her music, which does not cleanly fit into any genre.

Her sound is evocative of music production from the 1960s and 1970s. She likes the big sounds of the cello and violin at the same time. As a result, her tracks have a unique modern spin on classical sounds. In Other Words is her most recent single, in which she expresses her affections to the person she adores.

The first verse introduces us to her feelings. She sings about how everything in her life changes when she meets her lover, and their smile makes her weak in the knees. The melody is gentle and soothing, building in volume as it approaches the chorus.

The second verse beautifully reflects the passing thoughts of the relationship. The chorus gives way to the song’s most dramatic section, the bridge, which includes cellos. The melody becomes softer and quieter as it progresses, culminating in the same way it began, vanishing into the silence.
