I Can’t Feel
The short track uses the line “I Can’t Feel” repetitively as is characteristic of the song-writing in the genre. K-Syran displays range in her vocal performance as she hits bass notes while keeping the overall feeling of the track light, layered and whispery. The sonic palette of the track is of early 2000s pop music, reminding one of iconic performances like the Vengaboys. While the beat is very high energy and remains so consistently throughout the track, the synth-claps add to the club-like aesthetic the track is going for.
The dark lyrics stand in juxtaposition to the upbeat production and the track taps into this disconnect. “I Can’t Feel” could be perceived as cathartic or sad, although the track tends to focus on the latter. Feelings of not feeling satisfied, living, feeling, breaking, healing and self-delusion are explored consistently. Although the length of the track brings with it its own limitations, I wished it played more with energy levels or displayed more variety in its instrumentation within the track rather than through the mixed versions. The single however, is successful in creating an EDM atmosphere that is not dark, but rather bright and joyful.
Stonebridge Ibiza Mix
The Stonebridge Ibiza Mix has a really hard-hitting beat that it places at the centre, while the rest of the track is rather subdued. The rhythm is meant to be the highlight and is perfect for a rave or high-energy party. The synth brings with it a summery and bright vibe and the track makes liberal uses of sound effect and hi-hat filled percussion.
The extended version of the Stonebridge Ibiza Mix ups the stakes and brings much more energy in the percussion. It has urgent bass lines and a higher BPM along with subdued vocals by K-Syran. The repetition given that it is an extended version provides a hypnotic effect. Both the tracks use the bridge to build up and drop quickly, making it an ideal club track.

Stonebridge House Mix
As the title mentions, the Stonebridge House mixes borrow heavily from House beats with a much more hard-hitting bass. It manages to provide a chill and low-key energy despite the heavy instrumentation. The bridge makes use of claps for percussion and I really enjoyed the bubbly key riff on this version. The extended mix has really sharp and cutting percussion, extremely groovy bass lines with a focus on instrumentation before the track comes into the picture. The synths are simple and joyful!
