Coming across a song like this especially when one is sitting high up in the altitude literally, makes me wonder if that white man in white robes sitting on a rocky mountain around smoky clouds actually truly exists or life is playing trick. ‘Be still and wait’ is a slow country rock that the local radio station has fallen in love with and plays every two hours.

And then when I found out that Judy picked up her guitar as a sexagenarian, blowed my mind! Someone like me who waits for the light to show the path, this is a miracle song. Especially coming from Judy and the number of her years on this Earth matters. Where every moment is a fomo moment for our generation, resonant words coming from two generations before is hope.
A slow but groovy drumming introduces ‘Be still and wait’ and Judy’s voice, the lyrics and the pace gives a female Marley feel. With the electric guitar coming in between the verses are grunge-like pump-ups. The song is a chill number, one that has a sarcastic tone yet philosophy-heavy.
Little about Judy Granville
Judy Granville is a rare breed of singer-songwriter who began performing and producing records in her sixties. Judy retired and moved to Brighton, following in the footsteps of many musicians who have made that city their home, and before long she found herself learning guitar and acquiring an electric Fender. What emerged was a prolific singer-songwriter.
Her vocal style could perhaps evoke Grace Slick, but you might say her songs cross rock with soul, folk and the odd injection of punk. Some of her many musical influences include Bonnie Raitt, Police, Stevie Nicks, Richard Thompson and Lianne La Havas.
