Almost every song from Karen Harding exposes us to variant emotional spectrum. ‘Judge You’ dives deeper into the gray shades of self-sabotaging voices in our head. Which I’m sure majority of the humanity today faces this colour as the negative self-talk. And this song exposes the true message of self-judgement patterns.
Listening to the song first time , I was sure I had misheard. I reacted and rewind back to listen where Karen says ‘because I’ll judge you, there’s no escape, oh! I’ll keep you safe.” My self-judgement voice was like, “yes! you’ve heard her wrong, because no one can ever write a song where she says that she’ll judge herself!”

What a dichotomy of a song, I realised. Along with such pure brilliance.
Karen Harding has presented her life’s story with brutal honesty. I’m sure majority of her fans will resonate with her. We all face the harshness of negative self-talk but how many of us build the courage to see through that veil. To understand that the negative is the background, pushing us to see the exact opposite. Like the Universal truth of the Law of Duality, one exists because the other does too. We appreciate light because there is darkness. This song is proof in the pudding.
‘Judge You’ also has an interesting way of layering the lyrics. It took me a while to receive the message of the song. “Saw you run the other way, why are you running, I’ll be where you lay… If we can just walk together, we will be in harmony.” At this point I had no idea who or what she is referring to, and then “because I will judge you, there is no escape, oh! I will keep you safe”, completely took me off-guard. The soft start of the piano keys and slow progression of her vocal shift along with the drums has a wholesome affect on the listener. Karen Harding and Daniel Neiberg surely weaves magic with this number, the second single release from the upcoming album, Behind the Mask.
