Soul Healer & Duane Harden’s New Single ‘Apologize’ is a Beautifully Worded Sentiment

As the wise say, if the outer world is a mirror of one’s inner world, then the way out of today’s chaos begins with forgiving oneself. It’s an expression often preached these days but rarely practised. Soul Healer & Duane Harden, with their latest release, Apologize, have walked a path akin to that of the wise. The realisation of Duane’s words hits hard. The lyrics are deep, profound, and honest, leaving a lasting imprint on the heart. Apologize is a song of self-actualisation and recognition of one’s own deeds.

As the soul sets the timer for inner turmoil in attunement with inner peace, writing a song of self-apology thus becomes the soul’s rite of purification. A Hawaiian mantra known as Ho’oponopono came to my mind as I listened to the song. It’s a prayer for self-healing and reconciliation, spoken aloud to oneself in the words: “I’m sorry,” “Please forgive me,” “Thank you,” and “I love you.”

The lead singer powerfully vocalises the heartache, capturing the emotional weight of the song. Lines like, “It makes me feel better when I’m not one I blame,” stand as a testament to the clarity and honesty of self-acceptance. The way one’s own desires can lead to self-inflicted pain is poignantly presented. The sound is smooth, the rhythm unfolds like a slow burn, perfectly in sync with the process of catharsis.
