15x GRAMMY winners Seattle rock band Foo Fighters bring first-ever India tour to Bengaluru and Mumbai in January 2027
Foo Fighters in India? We’ll take a few please!
Could one of rock’s biggest names finally be making its long-awaited India debut?
On Sunday, a cryptic teaser shared by BookMyShow Live and Bandland had sent fans into full detective mode, with many convinced the clues point straight to a possible Foo Fighters gig in the future.
The post itself kept things minimal. A picture of a single bass drum sitting against a bold red background. But what grabbed attention was a tiny ray gun decal placed where a band logo would usually appear.
Long-time Foo Fighters fans instantly connected the symbol to the artwork from the band’s 1995 self-titled debut album, where the ray gun became one of their most recognisable visual signatures.
The bass drum sparked another layer of speculation.
Some fans claimed that it may also be a reference for frontman Dave Grohl’s early years behind the kit as the goated drummer of Nirvana before becoming one of rock’s most iconic lead singers.
Things escalated further when the official Foo Fighters Instagram account dropped a pair of eye emojis in the comments under the teaser.
What unfolded next shocked the entire nation!

Foo Fighters aka Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin will mark their debut LIVE show in Bengaluru on January 29 and Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 31
On Monday noon, the band finally dropped the bomb. In association with BookMyShow Live, general sale tickets were announced to go live for their ‘Take Cover Tour, India 2007’ tomorrow. The Bengaluru and Mumbai gigs will be supported by The Pretty Reckless, along with Die Spitz, Still in Therapy, Alain Johannes, Mali and Pinkshift.
Foo Fighters have never performed in India. After the release of Your Favorite Toy, now seems like a perfect opportunity for Grohl and co. to tap into the Indian concert ecosystem. frontman Dave Grohl stated that “its taken a few years but it’ll be worth the wait.”
