Slipknot seem to have seemingly revealed the 2 latest additions to the band on the evening of 23rd April. This comes after the surprise firing of drummer Jay Weinberg and keyboardist Craig Jones earlier this year.
In a cool website, Slipknot have made references to their beginning, this year marking the 25th anniversary of their brutal debut album, Iowa. There are “guestlist” links, links to lyrics, music and shows as a reference to the original “Javascript” style website. You can visit it here, and make sure you have headphones on.
Weinberg had recorded with the band for their albums We Are Not Your Kind (2019) and The End, So Far (2022). Craig Jones was one of the starting members of the band, joining in 1996. Thanks to internet sleuthing, a Reddit user has deduced the band’s two members.
Studying the source code for the website, a Slipknot fan revealed the names to be Eloy and Jeff. Eloy is undoubtedly Eloy Casagrande, the former drummer of Sepultura. He left the band earlier this year to “pursue a career in another project”.
Jeff is rumoured to be Jeff Karnowski from Dirty Little Rabbits, who Shaun Crahan and Tortilla Man were involved with earlier in their career. Slipknot is already on the move, touring and making new music. They are starting their first gig at Pappy + Harriet’s, a small pub in California.
