Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain has called for Donald Trump and his associates to be jailed, while speaking on his forthcoming memoir Hello Boys And Girls!
In an interview with The Telegraph, Nicko McBrain, the legendary drummer from Iron Maiden, discussed his dislike of Trump while revealing that he once rejected an invitation to play golf with him. The invitation came through a Republican friend, but McBrain had no interest in accepting.
Although he described himself as someone who generally avoids political and religious debates, the drummer made an exception when discussing the current White House. “I was actually invited to go and play golf with him.” He said, “A friend of mine who’s a massive Republican said, ‘Oh, do you want to come and play golf with us? With the president.’ And I said, ‘You fucking what?’… and I just said, ‘No. No, mate.'”
McBrain criticised what he sees as Trump’s narcissism, raised questions about the controversy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein files, and condemned the war involving Iran. “My last word on Trump and his bunch of cronies is, they should be put in jail,” McBrain told The Telegraph.

McBrain has lived in Boca Raton, Florida, for nearly four decades, relatively close to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach. When asked about the proximity, the drummer replied, “Too fucking close, mate.”
The interview accompanies the release of McBrain’s autobiography, Hello Boys and Girls!, published by Harper Nonfiction. The book traces more than five decades in music, including his work with Iron Maiden and his earlier French rock band Trust.
McBrain retired from touring with Iron Maiden in December 2024 following health challenges, but remains involved with the band. He will also embark on a spoken-word tour beginning in Frankfurt on October 26, with dates across Europe and the UK to promote his autobiography.
