Tom Morello, Roman Morello and Serj Tankian Join Forces on New Protest Anthem “ADJOURN IT”

Rock icon Tom Morello has officially released “ADJOURN IT,” a banger new track that he crafted alongside his son, Roman Morello, and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian. After teasing the song throughout May, the trio has now released the full version that flaunts heavy riffs and outspoken political commentary, very typical of the musicians’ roster.

A Full-Power Family Collaboration With a Deep Message

The artists have described the message behind the song as as a response to the treatment of immigrants in the United States under Trump’s administration that’s happening currently in what they called “a heroic resistance to the rising tide of fascism.”. They framed “ADJOURN IT” as a freedom song built around justice, equality and resistance.

The track delivers exactly what fans might expect from a team-up of this caliber. Morello’s signature guitar work leads the song, enmeshed with thick grooves and experimental effects. Tankian’s signature vocal style adds another layer of intensity that’s hard to miss.

The song’s lyrics tackle themes of racism, politics and social division. The song also tests Roman Morello’s caliber as a guitarist and, might I say that the Morello musician genes aren’t lost on this one. He has done a spectacular job on the track.
