After 3 Decades, Nine Inch Nails Wins Best Rock Song At 2026 Grammy’s

“As Alive as You Need Me to Be” is the first single from the Tron: Ares soundtrack. Other nominees include Sleep Token’s “Caramel,” Hayley Williams’s “Glum,” Turnstile’s “Never Enough,” and Yungblud’s “Zombie.” 

Previously, the industrial rock duo consisting of Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor had won two Grammys. This includes Best Metal Performance for “Wish” in 1992 and “Happiness in Slavery” in 1995. The Recording Academy had nominated the band as many as 13 times for the awards. The song was also nominated under the “Best Song Written For Visual Media” category. It lost to K-Pop Demon Hunters’ “Golden”.

For Sleep Token and Yungblud, it was their Grammy debut. The latter got nominated in 3 categories- “Best Rock Song”, “Best Rock Album”, and “Best Rock Performance”. Sleep Token was nominated for Best Metal Performance for “Emergence”.

Nine Inch Nails had released “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” before the August 30th cutoff, making the album TRON: Ares eligible for this year’s Grammy. Although the album dropped in mid-September. This means there is a chance of more awards from this album – if not 2026, next year for sure.
