9 o’clock Nasty return with the keys to a petrol soaked rock track, “Bad Monkey”

9 o’clock Nasty have had a baller of a year. They’ve been on stage more than the leader of their country, making memorable shows and even more memorable videos. Just promos of their music are striking enough to know what must be going on. Like a gift in a cereal box, just the bare name is addiction enough that needs a large area of nicotine patches on my body. Luckily they’re back with crack in a nifty pack, this is called Bad Monkey.

Any killer action movie has that scene where the protagonist is off to do ballsy, 100% risk-50% reward sequences. Bad Monkey is the song which will play the next time that happens. A song that will send the distortion knob squealing, the car tires a-peelin’ and make you cherish that junkie feeling. This is a 3 chord change with a V8 humming for the rhythm section, while Sydd, Pete and Tedd can smell the adventure written in the outro of the script.

9 o’clock Nasty has made one of those songs that becomes a hit on the radio, translating to a viral slice of the present on TikTok. The vocal filter is perfect for the song, you feel like a main character on Sons of Anarchy before you catch your reflection gawking at the monitor due to sub-par frame rates. The song has the greed to become the opening number on your depraved weekend “bender with your moneylender”. Cheers and a fist of fury, young men.

At this point, 9 o’clock Nasty have more songs than a bands residency at the Sphere. The exciting part, they’re all so different, you’ll never want another band playing. A band made with the slices of vinyl’s retrograde and presence of 80s rockstars. Listen to the song here and follow them on their Instagram and Twitter!

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
