R.A.I.D. Pushes “Killer Instinct” Beyond Aggression Into Survival

R.A.I.D. (Rueban And the Imperium Division) are a metallic hardcore band from Hyderabad, India. On 23 March 2026, they released their latest single alongside a music video on Youtube, Killer Instinct, ahead of their upcoming album in April. The song rebuilds the idea of a “killer instinct” around the mindset of survival, rather than violence or aggression.

Killer Instinct comes in loud and doesn’t really let up. There’s no slow build—the percussion comes in heavy, everything kicks up at once, and the vocals follow with that rough, growled edge that feels like it’s pushing through the noise rather than sitting on it. It’s loud, a bit overwhelming, and very intentional about it.

The lyrics stay just as direct, “Born into darkness,” and, “Scar etched deep from every cut,” make it clear this isn’t coming from a calm place. But the track keeps circling one idea—what does “killer instinct” actually mean here? It doesn’t come off as aggression for the sake of it. It feels more like survival, something you cling to when everything else has already fallen apart.

While lines like, “Turning weakness into power with every breath” and “Rage becomes my weapon” lay it out. Pain isn’t something to hide here, it’s something to use. And that constant “No surrender” running through the track keeps that mindset steady.

The sound follows that same feeling. It starts intense and just keeps stacking on itself—loud, consuming, and at times feels like it’s closing in on you. By the end, Killer Instinct doesn’t just talk about rising from the ashes, but feels like dragging yourself back up, holding onto that instinct just to keep on going.
