Valiancy’s “Voices” Turns Inner Chaos Into a Sleepless Anthem

Valiancy is the stage name of Kyle Harris, a pop artist who blends contemporary, cinematic, and dark pop. Recently, he released Voices, a personal pop ballad confronting negative self-talk and internal conflict. The single centers emotional vocals, stark production, and direct lyrics rooted in lived mental health experiences openly.

Voices opens with a metallic droning, like stepping straight into a dark, empty void. The stomping rhythm keeps pushing forward, building a haunted, almost anthemic energy that plagues you and steals sleep. 

Then the breathy vocals, exposed and shaky, repeat the lyrics, “all those voices… calling me in my head” and “yeah, I wish I was dead.” It doesn’t feel poetic, but blunt about how messy depression can be. Meanwhile, instead of softening the heaviness, the futuristic sonic layers feel like intrusive thoughts bouncing off metal walls.

There’s also a thread of reaching for connection and missing it. Lines about someone having “the light” but “you never loved me” suggest looking to another person for grounding or hope, then feeling rejected or unseen, deepening the isolation already happening internally.

Moreover, the production never drowns the vocals; it just surrounds them like late-night silence pressing in. Finally, Voices feels like driving alone on an empty road with the radio too loud, caught between wanting to feel something and wanting everything to finally go quiet.
