Michael Ivan Stewart, known as Mike Stewart Theory, is an Texas-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter. He has a rich history of collaboration with major artists including The Dead Milkmen, Poi Dog Pondering, The Gourds, etc. Moreover, he pushes boundaries by blurring genre lines, moving fluidly from stoner groove and lounge-folk to groove dance-pop, alternative, and rock. In addition, he stays active as a live performer while expanding the Mike Stewart Theory project. Most recently, he released his latest track, “It Reaches Us,” on August 22, 2025.
