Gürschach Commands the Desert Storm in “Dawn of a New”

Gürschach is a San Francisco-based experimental metal band. They fuse sludge, punk, progressive, Latin, electronic, and jazz. As a result, their sound feels chaotic, heavy, and cinematic. Their 2025 single Dawn of a New was released on June 28, ahead of their concept album Absolutely Nothing. It captures rebellion, danger, and desert intensity. The band has also released an official music video for the single on YouTube.

Dawn of a New strikes like a war cry echoing across a sun-scorched desert. The lyrics don’t ask; they command. From the very start, the song propels you forward. A jagged electric guitar riff slices open the silence with drums crashing in soon after. Both the words and melody radiate urgency. They force you to rise, to march, to scream back “yes” to every “Raise your fingers and follow me.” Moreover, the repetition of  “It’s time” hammers like war drums, leaving no room for hesitation. 

In addition, the desert setting intensifies the imagery. It’s not just a backdrop; it’s the battlefield. It embodies desolation, test, and rebirth. With every lyric you feel like you’ve been recruited into some epic crusade across a scorching wasteland where survival and conquest intertwine.

As the song progresses, the melody never wanders. It drives forward like a hunt across dunes, tightening with every verse.
